NDIS Centre-Based Group Activities & Community Programs

Connecting, Learning, and Growing Together

At Skillwise Disability Services, our Group & Centre-Based Activities create opportunities for participants to build friendships, explore interests, and strengthen everyday skills in a welcoming and inclusive environment. We believe social connection plays a vital role in confidence, independence, and overall wellbeing.

This NDIS Core Support is suited for participants who enjoy shared experiences and want to engage with others while developing communication, teamwork, and community participation skills. Our supportive staff guide activities to ensure everyone feels safe, respected, and involved.

Programs may include creative workshops, recreational sessions, life-skills groups, and community outings. Activities are designed to be engaging, meaningful, and adaptable to different abilities and interests.

Each participant is encouraged to take part at their own comfort level while being supported to try new experiences and grow.

We work closely with families and support coordinators to align activities with individual goals. Our team follows NDIS standards and promotes positive outcomes that enhance inclusion and personal development. With Skillwise, participants enjoy a space where learning and connection happen naturally.

Each activity is designed to promote independence, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

  • Q.How many participants are in each group session?

Group sizes are kept small to ensure everyone gets appropriate support and attention. Contact us for current group sizes and ratios.

  • Q.Where are sessions held?

Most sessions are held at our Rooty Hill centre. We also run regular community outings across Western Sydney — Blacktown, Mount Druitt, and surrounding areas.

  • Q.How is this funded in my NDIS plan?

Group and Centre-Based Activities are funded under Core Supports (line item 04_102_0136_6_1). This is available to most NDIS participants with relevant support needs and goals.

  • Q.Is transport to the centre available?

Transport to and from our centre may be available depending on your NDIS plan. Ask us about transport options when you enquire.

  • Q.What if my child or family member is nervous about joining a group?

That's completely normal. We offer a meet-and-greet and a trial session so participants can ease in gradually. Our staff are experienced in helping new participants settle in and feel welcome.
